Wired To Open Gadget Shop
from the huh? dept
Tech magazine Wired says it will open a gadget shop in New York City for 5 weeks before Christmas where shoppers can play with 65 items, then order them from in-store kiosks and they'll be delivered to their homes. Apparently their debt collector scheme wasn't too successful, and they're looking for new revenue streams, because this smacks of an expensive offline version of those mini-malls some bloggers are using to generate affiliate sales these days. Maybe Wired saw all those bloggers getting a cut of the sales of products they write about, and decided they wanted a piece of the action, too.
