John Battelle's book about Google, The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture is coming out in a couple months, and Wired Magazine is running an excerpt all about the birth of Google. Nothing all that revealing or new, but still a well-told story about how Google began searching the web, and what influenced Page and Brin to work on the project in the first place.
