Sleazy Salesman Finds Dot-Com Stock Dupes ... After The Bubble

from the better-late-than-never dept

Buckle up for a ride in the time machine. The attorney general of Missouri is going after scammers who sold worthless dot-com stock. That's a blast from the past, not only to those of us in the here and now, but apparently also to those who fell for the scam: it happened in 2002. The bubble was long over by the time these people were being cold-called to buy shares in AskGT.com (if that's your real name). And who buys stock over the phone, wiring their money no less, to some random nobody who just called them out of the blue? We've heard that trends come to the Midwest later than other parts of the country, but this is ridiculous.
