Driving And Yakking On The Rise
from the it's-an-issue dept
Despite plenty of new laws and various education campaigns, it seems that people simply can't stop driving while yakking. The latest studies show the number of people driving while yakking is increasing -- especially among younger drivers. Of course, this is probably just a function of the fact that more young people now have mobile phones. The study (done by roadside observation) also found that approximately 8% of all drivers appeared to be yakking away while driving.

I still don't see any law that *fairly* recognizes the simple fact that in pedestrian/vehicular accidents it takes two to tango, and that a pedestrian too busy yakking on its phone to heed a red light at a crossing is at least as culpable as any driver.
