Jury Invalidates Patent On Bond Trading Tech

A jury looking over a patent infringement case concerning electronic bond trading technology found that one company did, indeed, infringe on the patent, but that the patent, itself, was not valid. This is good news, since it can take a lot for a jury to realize a patent isn't valid. Of course, it wasn't invalidated for prior art, or for being obvious, but because the patent didn't actually describe the technology in question. In other words, it sounds like they decided that the patent was so vaguely worded that it didn't protect anything.
