Arrested For Using Lynx?
from the dammit,-it's-got-no-graphics! dept
While some graphic designers probably do think that using Lynx (a text-based browser that was, incidentally, the first browse I ever used) is a crime, it's hard to understand why you would get arrested for using it. Apparently, with all the stories about Tsunami-related scams, an amazingly clueless person at BT saw the Lynx entry in the log files and immediately rang up the police -- who proceeded to bust down the door and take the guy down. It would be interesting to get a few more details here, as the current claim is based on an email list, without much to back it up. Anyone know if this is what really happened?
