IBM May Not Be Able To Sell PC Division
from the so-much-for-that-plan dept
It turns out it's not only investors and IBM Thinkpad owners who aren't thrilled with the idea of Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo owning IBM's PC division. The US government is suddenly a bit worried that selling the division to a Chinese company may open up opportunities for "industrial espionage" from China. This could delay or even kill the deal entirely. Amusingly, this news made Lenovo's stock shoot upwards, which some point out is a fairly embarrassing way to boost your stock.
