Bezos Innnnnn Spaaaaaaaaace!
from the one-step-closer dept
It's been quite some time since rumors started leaking out that Jeff Bezos was spending money on a space venture named Blue Origin, but they've been extremely quiet while other billionaires (Paul Allen, Richard Branson, etc.) stole the headlines for billionaires in space. Now, however, a little bit more is coming out about the Bezos project. While they didn't go after the X-Prize, they are starting to build a testing facility for a suborbital ship that can take up to three astronauts, while taking off and landing vertically. Honestly, after the X-Prize and SpaceShipOne, this sounds sort of "me-too-ish." Still, it should be interesting to watch the dueling billionaires figure out who can get to space first.

Could be a terrific bargain!
As I remarked quite some time ago:
This could be a terrific bargain: I'm going to wait until they offer free shipping.
