The Nintendo Surgeon

from the operate-with-a-gamepad dept

It appears that video games are getting more respect in a lot of areas that you wouldn't necessarily expect. A top surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York is trying to raise the amount of respect video games have in the medical profession. He believes that surgeons who play certain video games can perform much better -- completing tasks in a shorter period with fewer errors. So far, it sounds like he hasn't gained that big of a following, but he seems to believe it's only a matter of time until surgeon are just as used to having a gamepad in their hands as a scalpel.
