Google A Little Over Anxious To Please

from the slow-down-there... dept

You know those people who are always trying to finish your sentences for you? That can be quite annoying in conversation, but does it make sense on a computer? We're all probably used to auto-complete features that try to fill in the rest of an email address or URL, based on ones that you've typed before. However, Google is now testing Google Suggest, which tries to guess what you want to search for as you're typing -- and even shows how many results there will be for each option. These aren't based on things you've typed before, but what others have been searching for. It's an interesting feature to play around with, and could be useful for certain searches, but still seems a bit distracting at times.

    Google Suggest

It's awesome. If it's distracting, just don't use it. This is a great feature that I'll use a LOT, because most of what I search for, someone else has already searched and so i will not have to always type the whole thing in all the time.
