Apple May Not Be Able To Get iTunes.co.uk
from the good-luck-with-that dept
Apple is apparently threatening the owner of iTunes.co.uk. For obvious reasons, it may sound like they have a case, but the problem is that its current owner registered it years ago and has been using it since. Apple has tried offering him money for the domain, which is a common trick. When the current owner says "not enough," the party claiming trademark tells arbitrators that the current owner just wants it for money. One area that might get tricky, though, is that the site currently is advertising iPods and credits towards the real iTunes -- which some might deem confusing to customers.
