Online Porn Dangers: Psychological Or Computorial?

from the everybody-looking-out-for-you dept

Apparently the message of the day is that online porn is bad for you... in so many ways. Some of our Congress critters have determined that online porn addiction is as bad as crack or heroin addiction, minus the fact that, well, porn addictions don't lead to overdose deaths, serious crime problems or dangerous behavior by those on the drugs. But, you know, minus that, they're exactly the same. Besides, if (as one Senator appears to want), online porn were banned, it's not as if these "addicts" would suddenly give up the porn. In fact (whoops) it would probably lead to more "crime" since they'd suddenly be breaking the law to get their fix -- though, one researcher thinks that police need to start recording evidence at crime scenes to see if porn was somehow involved. According to the Senator in question, Sam Brownback, porn was just fine when you had to sneak a peek in a dirty magazine as a kid, because, apparently, making porn seem more obscure and mysterious doesn't make children even more interested in it at all... Meanwhile, a much more realistic problem with online porn may be that most of those porn sites are busy installing spyware and trojans on your computer while you stare at naked folks. Just wait until the Congressional folks get a hold of that study.

Let's just say a google image search on that word will give you a rash so bad, that it will bleed and look like pizza.

Our states should either sell state-supported pron to balance their budgets, or stop fleecing those addicted to gambling. See:

I don't see why you are making light of this. The dangers of porn are as bad as crack or heroin. There have been numerous studies on this and many statistics have proven that porn is an addiction that can have results just as harmful as illegal drugs. These things, "overdose deaths, serious crime problems or dangerous behavior", do happen to porn addicts. If you watch too much porn and thereforce become hopelessly addicted, you are at a high risk of participating in criminal behavior. If nobody ever watched porn it wouldn't be a problem. Currently, it is VERY unlikely that porn will stop because too many people watch it, but we should prevent it from spreading.

How to avoid porn addiction on the Internet 1. Consider installing porn content filtering software( Strongly Recommend NetDog Porn Filter, you can get it from www.netdogsoft.com ) on your computer. it will help to protect you from stumbling into pornography by accident, That's important. 2. Do not try to guess what the address of a Web page is. Many pornographic sites have similar addresses of respectable sites. For example www . whitehouse . com is a porn site. The real address is www. whitehouse . gov 3. Never click on Web site addresses that you receive in an unsolicited email. 4. Do not open attachments that come in email that are unsolicited. 5. Use filtered search engines or reputable directories to find the information you need. 6. Do not search for terms like girls. Think before you enter a search term. Stick with reputable sites. If something looks questionable, don't let curiosity get the best of you. Delete it or close the window. Internet Porn Filter Resource: http://www.netdogsoft.com

  8. What?

    by David - Oct 14th, 2007 @ 12:39am

For those of you who think that porn is as addictive as heroin and cocaine need to go out and meet someone who is addicted to these hardcore drugs. Pornography addiction pales in comparison to heroin/cocaine addiction. It isn't even a fair comparison. I'm not saying that pornography is not addicting or that it doesn't cause problems in families but to compare it to hardcore drugs is laughable.

Sure porn's addictive, but that's only because most of it's shite and you keep searching for that one scene you know is out there... you know the one...

I have a compulsion to look at (and hoard) porn but I feel no withdrawals when I don't get it. I just think of all the new porn accumulating on my favourite sites and smile. I think if you're experiencing marriage breakup or career implosion due to anything, then you are by definition addicted and need to seek help. I'd say the best way would be to get rid of a net connection entirely. Your facebook friends might get shirty but you won't get dirty.

That said, I think porn's great. I really do. Many ancient 'fertility goddess' figurines were actually caveman porn. Look at the norks on that etc. But everything in moderation, or even to excess - but if you have withdrawals or have negative impacts then you need to find something new to do. It's true of everything and anything.

  10. how do you break the habbit?

    by andrew - Aug 14th, 2008 @ 4:01am

with adult film how can the habit be broken are their methods.what i see is the real problem is not the adult film industry or even free video clips.what the real problem is that the rights of free video clips are abused.think about it.if you are trying to enjoy and find vintage that was not released to dvd and all of a sudden you encounter something that is not suppposed to be their what do you do sure you can make report after report but, what happens then i will tell nothing.if you have a problem with adult films ban diaper comercials why your add it for the really sick people out their.what alot of people misconcieve is they think if we take away the movies that it's over.wrong.this is why it's not the porn that is actually dangerous what it is,is the mind of the viewer watching it.his imagination.their are some with something called the caveman syndrome.yes this is real condition some human beings in science have been proven to have an overgrowth in hormones which makes them more carnal than the average person.so is it the movies are the person viewing the movies.so if to blame anything try banning imagination.
