Using Google To Out Diploma Mill Cheats
from the fun-fun-fun dept
DC writes in to tell us about yet another series of stories about people who got fake degrees from diploma mills. We've covered this story a few times before -- from government officials to teachers faking their degrees. DC points out that, since Hamilton University seems to be the preferred source for such degrees (the latest story shows the CEO of Cessna has two degrees from the non-university) it's easy to go hunting for others: "The point is a bit of schadenfreude -- search Google for ' "Hamilton University", resume ' or ' "Hamilton University", bio ' (you get the idea), and Google will happily give you a nice list of people with very questionable backgrounds and ethics. Doctors, lawyers, financial planners, college coaches, engineers, ministers, and on and on. Be sure to note that there are a couple of legitimate Hamilton Universities -- in Canada and New Zealand, but the one in question is easy to spot."
