While many businesses still seem to think the internet is a broadcast medium where they're feeding information down to be consumed by the public, plenty of people have been pointing out (from the very beginning) that what makes the internet unique and useful is that it's truly interactive. The latest study from the prolific Pew Internet and American Life Project shows that internet users want their voices to be heard. A large percentage of users happily make use of ratings and review features to show how they feel about certain products. While this is very basic interactivity, it does get people involved and helps to build a more loyal sense of community.
