Those Horrible Personal Emails Again
from the yeah,-nice-try dept
Once again, a company selling a filtering tool is telling people that there's some awful problem in the workplace when people (gasp!) actually send personal emails from work computers. Of course, these same companies who are now being told that they need to block employees from sending personal emails at work seem to have no problem giving them Blackberries and laptops and mobile phones and asking them to do work from home when the need arises. Studies have shown that letting employees do some personal emails and surfing at work tends to make them more productive, not less, and they tend to make it up with even more work done at home.
