Rolex: For Discriminating Spammers Everywhere

from the wonderful dept

For the six or seven of you wondering, it turns out that Rolex brand may be surpassing the Viagra brand as the discriminating spammer's choice of scam products to pitch over email. It appears that, well, Viagra may be a bit tapped out, as all of the clueless individuals out there with erectile dysfunction have already been scammed. So spammers are falling back on the old classic, the Rolex. The fake Rolex, of course, is a "retro" scam, popular for years among shady New York City street sellers ("wanna buy a watch?") and more recently among eBay scammers. One can hope that the subset of those scammed by the fake Viagra would know better than to pay up for fake Rolexes, but it seems unlikely.

    Re: Rolex Replica Emails

I've definitely seen an increase in this sort of pitch in my inbox. My guess it it will die down after the holiday season when not so many shoppers are online buying whatever catches their eye.
