My First Mobile Debt
from the such-is-life dept
While parents are upset that broadcasters in Finland seem to be targeting kids with promotions for interactive services that are driving up phone bills, they don't seem to want to look at ways they can prevent this themselves. The obvious thing, of course, is for younger users to have prepay accounts -- limiting how much they can spend. Still, with younger and younger kids getting phones that can be used for data services, perhaps kids are now learning fiscal responsibility from their phones. What's surprising is that these parents don't seem concerned that they left a mobile phone with no spending limits in the hands of young kids who have no experience with managing money.
