Google's Latest Trick: Solving Unsolved Mysteries?

The Google founders like to tell the story (over and over and over again) about how someone once saved their own life using Google. They were having chest pains, and a Google search convinced the person he was having a heart attack and got him to the hospital quickly. While perhaps not quite as dramatic, now Google can add "solving unsolved mysteries" to their list of feats. A detective working to solve some unsolved missing persons crimes decided to turn to Google, and surprisingly, used the search engine to match a hit and run death 11-years-ago with a missing persons report. The article isn't all that clear on how this worked, but the key ingredient was seeing a distinctive pair of eyeglasses that helped identify the hit and run victim.
