E911 Problems Blamed In Death
from the not-a-ringing-endorsement dept
For all of E911's problems (of which there are many) having the damn system work right wasn't supposed to be an issue. However, Broadband Reports tells us of the very unfortunate story of a baby who died, apparently, after incorrect E911 information misrouted the call to the wrong dispatcher. As more systems, both mobile and VoIP, are relying on E911 systems, it's worrisome that we may start hearing more stories like this. It makes you wonder if having no location info is better than having incorrect location info.
