Tim Berners-Lee Warns About Patent Threat
from the everyone-agrees... dept
Not particularly surprising, but we can now add Tim Berners-Lee to the list of people talking about the threat of patent royalties doing harm to the web. "If you want a good laugh, go look at patent applications." Unfortunately, as we've been noting here, for most people it's no laughing matter. Companies are using patents to slow down innovation and harm the economy (for everyone but a few patent lawyers). It appears that plenty of people recognize this, but still it seems like no one is doing anything to fix the situation.
