Text Messaging Destroys The Family Road Trip
from the oh-the-shame dept
First it was people complaining that kids watching DVDs in the backseat were killing the spirit of the "family road trip," but now you don't even need a fancy expensive in-car entertainment system to lose out on all the joy of family bonding (fighting) in the car. Textually is pointing to a story saying that kids in the UK spend a good portion of time text messaging their friends during road trips. They also prefer to listen to music, rather than actually talk with their family, but I imagine that's been true since the walkman first came on the scene.
