Microsoft Patents Apple
from the how-about-that... dept
In what's most likely to be the result of a screwup at the patent office, it appears that Microsoft has patented Apple. Well, not exactly. A new patent has been issued on a new type of apple, and for some unexplained reason, the patent has been assigned to Microsoft. The patent makes no mention of Microsoft, and the most likely explanation is that someone filled in the assignee field incorrectly. However, it makes for an amusing headline, sure to get plenty of attention. Update: As expected, it turns out this was simply a mistake.
