Sony Ericsson Looking Like A Successful Partnership
from the didn't-see-that-coming dept
It's amazing how quickly things can change. When Sony and Ericsson created their Sony Ericsson joint venture, many people scoffed at the idea, pointing out that because the two companies couldn't compete on their own against Nokia, it didn't necessarily mean that they'd do any better together. And, in fact, early on the company struggled quite a bit. It was only a year and a half ago that Ericsson warned that they were planning to pull out of the joint venture if one of the phones didn't start selling soon. Well, it appears they got their wish. Sony Ericsson phones have been doing well lately and the joint venture is now considered quite a success. Of course, considering the turnaround in just a year and a half, it might make sense to wait and see what a bit longer before declaring this a complete success. A little more of a track record would be nice.
