Speakeasy Teams Up With OSDN For Power Broadband

from the good-for-them dept

I noticed this hasn't received much press, but Speakeasy, the broadband provider that keeps on building its reputation as a broadband provider who actually wants to give users what they want - rather than prohibiting from doing things has apparently signed a deal with OSDN, the VA Software subsidiary that owns such sites as Slashdot, Freshmeat and SourceForge, to offer "power-user broadband" that focuses on providing high speeds and none of the "can't do that" list that traditional providers include. Of course, I'm not exactly sure what role OSDN actually has in this, other than being a marketing partner for Speakeasy - but they clearly know their target audience. In some ways, this is just the other end of the tiering trend. While many companies are focused on the lower end, Speakeasy seems to be targeting the higher end.

    - the customized packages also include a free introductory subscription to the premium services offered on OSDN's collaborative development Web site, SourceForge.net. Future packages will offer a SourceForge.net download mirror
