Report Questions Current Intellectual Property System
from the well,-that-was-fast dept
We were just writing about Alan Greenspan's call for research into ways to fix the intellectual property system, and along comes news of a new report, put together by a group that normally favors businesses, saying that current intellectual property laws may be bad for both business and the economy. This is, of course, what plenty of people have been saying for ages - but many in the business world have been brushing off those points suggesting it's just a bunch of people who want free stuff. It's good that some are finally realizing the real issue is how much these restrictions on consumer activity are actually harming the business side of things. While the report seems to have some problems, it's good that this debate is getting to a much more reasonable level in some circles.
