Old Criminals Learn (Somewhat) New Computer Tricks
from the not-too-different dept
Despite some fears about a new generation of computer criminals, police are pointing out that computer crimes are really just the same criminal tricks with a slight update to fit into the computer age. They're the same sort of people involved in the same sort of extortion, fraud and theft. The only difference is in the method of conducting these crimes. So now that the criminals have adjusted, it's time for the police to adjust as well, and learn how to fight crime that occurs via the computer, and not just focus on "computer crime" as if it's something entirely different and foreign.
