TiVo Doesn't Violate Patent On Pausing TV
from the well-that's-good dept
Not much in the way of details, but it appears that TiVo has won a case against yet another patent shop that claimed to own the patent on pausing live TV. The article doesn't say why the case was decided in TiVo's favor, but TiVo is asking that the patent shop pay all of TiVo's legal fees. Once again, this was a patent that probably never should have been issued. Rather than "encouraging innovation" it appears to have slowed it down by dragging the company that actually was doing something into court.
