Video Game Athletes Making More Money
from the slowly,-but-surely dept
It looks like the prediction of professional video game athletes becoming more and more like regular sports athletes is getting closer. While it wasn't that long ago that it was tough to make money being a professional video gamer, as sponsorships and large competitions have become increasingly popular, gamers are starting to find bigger pots of money available at the various competitions. They're still not getting rich, but at the rate the prize money has been growing, it might not be long. At the same time, the article also has some details on "training" procedures for professional gamers, pointing out that it's not all about sitting and playing - as they also spend time studying the moves of opponents so they know how to counteract them (again, more like a typical sport). Now, all that's missing is the money hogging agents.
