Fax.com Fined $5.38 Million... Again?
from the confused dept
Okay. I'm confused. Back in August of 2002, the FCC fined Fax.com $5.38 million for sending out junk faxes in violation of junk fax laws. So, why is it suddenly being reported again that the FCC has fined Fax.com $5.38 million? Is this a different $5.38 million or is it related to the same fine from a year and a half ago? If it's the same fine, why is it being reported again? Fax.com, of course, is the junk fax leader and has been sued for $2.2 trillion by Steve Kirsch for their faxing activities. Also, back in September, there was a report suggesting that Fax.com was set to announce that they were going out of business while really setting up shop again under a variety of cover names to avoid these tricky legal problems.

There are told to change their way and will never have to pay….however the fcc does not need to go back to court to end the deferment.
Perhaps that is the case here!
