Profitable Online Content Sites?

In case you hadn't noticed, it's looking like more and more online content sites are figuring out how to make money. Much of it seems to be coming from a boost in ad revenue, though it seems to be from coming up with better, more targeted advertising, rather than just more intrusive and annoying advertising. At the same time, the sites that are making money elsewhere appear to be doing it by offering additional services that people will pay for, and not just more (or the same, but blocked off) content.
