Patent The Integers

Good satire works because it's just so close to true that you have to take a second to make sure it isn't really true. It's sad then, that this piece from the Register about how the US will now allow integers to be patented rings almost true, right down to the organization of the group FANT (Federation Against Number Theft). I wonder if folks who are patenting business models will see the humor?

    Why not just implement Peano's axioms in software and patent that? Then you own all the natural numbers.
