McDonald's Ditches Giant Vending Machines, Back To Dealing With Humans

from the who-needs-'em dept

Almost exactly a year ago we wrote about how giant vending machines were coming to the US. These were vending machines the size of small shops, that could pick from over 200 items to drop into your hand at your convenience - without having to deal with (gasp!) a human checkout person. It turns out that many of these machines were actually being run by McDonald's who has now decided that the US market just isn't ready for giant vending machines, which are being shut down. Perhaps there were complaints from teenaged kids who were scared that the vending machines were going to take away their only hope for a job.

Look at every aspect of their culture from who they admire, to what they eat, and what they teach their children in school. Europe is so far ahead of us in every way, that it's not even funny.
