Ohio Sues AOL Over Cancellation Process

from the you-can't-check-out dept

Just a month after AOL agreed to clarify the terms on how they handle canceled subscriptions, Ohio's attorney general has sued the company, saying that the company doesn't clearly explain the cancellation procedure, and is tricking people who thought they had signed up for a free trial. It's unclear if this is after AOL's agreed changes or if the Ohio AG is trying to sneak one in before they comply with the terms of their own settlement.

Laws have ambiguous status when it comes to contrapositive interpretations.

We hold these nontruths to be self-concealing, that all nonhumans are created unequally, that they are deprived by their destructor with certain alienable rights, that among these are death, tyranny, and the pursuit of sadness.
