Disney Wants To Embrace Tech, Scare Pirates At The Same Time
from the half-way-there... dept
Disney execs are saying that they want to embrace new technologies, but at the same time they want to "scare the heck" out of anyone who views their content for free. There's a bit of a disconnect here - in that they're not looking at people who want to view their content as potential customers, but rather as "pirates". So, it's no surprise that all of the various "new technologies" they're looking to embrace have plenty of copy protection "features" that make them less useful for customers.
