Ukrainian Computer Destruction Contests

from the destroy-away dept

Those Ukrainians really seem to like competitions that involve throwing technology. Earlier this year we wrote about the famous Ukrainian mobile phone chucking contest and now they've held a special computer destruction contest for computer addicts. There were three separate contests: keyboard chucking, mouse kicking and (the crowd pleaser) monitor destruction. The group that organized it said they did so to raise the awareness of spending too much time in front of a computer, though I'm not sure how that was accomplished. What person is honestly going to think, after watching someone destroy their monitor: "man, I'd better not use my computer so much." I don't see the connection. Even worse, the winners received a prize that didn't quite fit with the theme: they got new computers. Well, maybe they'll be ready to destroy them in next year's contest.

  • Microsoft's Windows upgrade dilemma solved!

Bill can organise a similar contest to be held at Redmond, where owners of bug-ridden Windows PCs can compete to see who can smash them up the fastest. All contestants get a new PC - with Windows XP pre-installed, of course. :-)
Something tells me that there would be no shortage of applicants...
