Surviving Life As An Internet Punchline
from the wooo-wooo dept
It seems that inadvertent internet celebrities will never go away. Following in the footsteps of Mahir of "I Kiss You!" fame, the latest are (of course) the Star Wars Kid and the Woo Woo guy. SF Gate has an article about the various instant internet celebrities and how they react to being the punchline of internet jokes that get forwarded just about everywhere. Some (like Mahir) embraced their newfound fame, while others (like the Star Wars Kid) have shunned it - and are even trying to sue those who started the process that made them famous. However, most folks point out that internet fame is a fleeting thing, as people quickly move on to the next person wacky thing - so they might as well enjoy the attention while they've got it.
