   I'm kind of curious as to how the retails are bearing the brunt of this fraud. In most transactions I have completed online I had to provide a credit card to make payment. If the fraudulent purchaser is using a fake or stolen card, isn't it the credit card company that " eats " the loss ?
   Any insite would be appreciated ...

   We wrote about this earlier in the year. The credit card companies don't eat the loss: they pass it on to the merchant often in the form of fees.

   Thank you ... I read the article and now have a better understanding of why more and more merchants are starting to decline to take charge cards

   in a nation that has banned all firearms (and destroyed nearly all of them), this fear seems irrational. Sounds like reason #50 to start something online, not reason #1...

   This has to be one of the stupidest stories I have ever read. It's based on no evidence whatsoever. The bottom line is that there isn't that much shop crime in the UK and someone here is clearly trying to hype something.
