The Car That Parks Itself

from the sounds-good-to-me dept

Yet another new, useful technology coming out of Japan. Toyota is getting ready to release their self-parking car. No more worrying about how to get into a tight parallel parking space without bumping the other cars or the curb. Apparently, the car determines where you should go and takes over control of the steering wheel to help you get in perfectly - every time. Like most drivers when asked to rate themselves, I consider myself a pretty good parallel parker, but this still sounds like it would be great - if only to better answer the important question of "can my car really fit in that spot?"
