Blackout Merchandise Online Within Hours Of Power Shutting Off
from the ah,-the-internet... dept
Even with the power out, some entrepreneurs knew the drill. The second some sort of big "event" happens, register a domain name, make up t-shirts and related products and sell, sell, sell. Welcome to the world of tragedy merchandising - internet style. Within hours of the power going down, you could buy commemorative memorabilia from the "2003 Blackout" with a variety of silly sayings. Someone has even (already!) written an e-book called "Surviving the Blackout of 2003" which is available for $10 online. Who said e-commerce was dead?
