Way back in 2001, we posted this story about the future of diamonds in the semiconductor industry. It seems technology advances have made cheap diamonds a reality. Watch out De Beers! From the article, it sounds like the entrepreneurs should be worried for their lives. So maybe it's a good thing that they've patented their process.

    Diamond rings coming out of bubble gum machines. Kid brings real diamond ring to redneck mom, redneck mom beats the hell out of the kid and makes them "return" it.
