Should Others Be Forced To Make Way For Broadband Over Powerlines?

Nick Ruark writes in (without a link!) to tell us about Andy Seybold's latest commentary criticizing those pushing for broadband over powerlines, who are pushing aside any questions about spectrum interference by claiming it's the problem of existing technologies to deal with any interference problems, and not a problem for the broadband over powerlines guys. Seybold argues that this is ridiculous, and, instead the companies pushing for such things should slow down. He suggests taking a year to study all the spectrum interference issues, figure out who needs what and make sure that, going forward, things are built in a way that will avoid any interference problem. Of course, all of this assumes that broadband over powerlines actually works. I've been hearing about BPL for at least five years now, and have yet to see evidence of it working outside of some very carefully set up conditions.
