Putting Webcams In The Classroom
from the gotta-watch-the-kids dept
Just a few weeks ago we had a story of a school district soundly rejecting plans to put webcams in classrooms to let parents watch over their kids' daily activities. Apparently, parents in Mississippi are less concerned, as a school district there is moving forward with webcam equipped classrooms. Of course, these webcams aren't for parents to view - or even teachers. They're supposedly there for security, and only school administrators and board members claim they have access. How long until we have either a story of (a) misuse by one of the approved viewers or (b) a student hacking their way in to the video streams?
