MP3.com, Lindows Founder Start Me Too VoIP Play
from the I've-heard-this-one-before... dept
Michael Robertson, founder of MP3.com and Lindows is getting some publicity today for starting a VoIP company called SIPPhone. It's not like Vonage at all, but, instead is an exact replica of Jeff Pulver's Free World Dialup. Basically, it will let you make "free" phone calls, but only to others using the same system. You have to buy the phones from him, hook them into your broadband connection, and then you can call any other SIPhone customer. Basically, he's creating his own separate phone system. Wasn't this just the thing that Jeff Pulver said needed to stop?
