Dial-A-Dolphin On Your Mobile Phone?

from the fun-for-the-whole-family dept

Stuck in traffic? Bored? Have no one better to talk to? Why not use your mobile phone to call a dolphin? Why? Why not! Vodafone (improperly spelled as Vodaphone in the Reuters piece) has apparently teamed up with some dolphin scientists in Ireland to let people call up dolphins and listen to the noise they make. Maybe this is a true story, but the misspelling of Vodafone, the lack of any such press release on the Vodafone site, and the simple oddity of the story makes me wonder if this is real.

If the phone runs on Linux, can it call a penguin instead of a dolphin?
