In the past, we've talked about how videogames are increasingly becoming like professional sports with big tournaments and fans, and even sponsorships. Wired News is running an article looking at just that trend, and pointing out that the prize money is growing and more people are going to the various tournaments as spectators - instead of as participants. In other words, people are interested in watching others play video games - and those running the tournaments are increasingly interested in turning them into spectator sports.
