from the billionaires-in-spaaaaaaace dept

theodp writes "Some scientists are voicing concerns about the private space tourism ventures of the "Rich and Famous", but Congress is considering the pleas of entrepreneurs who argue that a tax moratorium on space-related income, capital gains exclusion for stock in space companies, and a looser regulatory environment are needed, lest wealthy Americans be deprived of the opportunity to take suborbital and orbital space flights priced anywhere from $100,000 to $20 million. Great article!

Thanks, I was looking for news about that topic for a while. The testimonies give some good insight.

Well, it is a very risky business and its very arguable, which real advancement space travel for a lot of people will be.
