Airline Security's False Hope?

MIT's Tech Review takes a look at the proposed CAPPS II security system for airports and determines that it could very well make flying less secure, because it would probably make it easier to avoid being flagged for review. In general, I think these sorts of systems provide a false sense of security. Even the security staff begins to rely on them. If the system says the person isn't a threat, then they think that the person clearly couldn't be a threat, and do less to make sure things are safe.
