Thailand's Overnight Game Curfew Upsetting Adult Players

from the go-to-sleep-now dept

Last week we reported that a new ruling was going into effect in Thailand that would impose an online video game ban during the night. They said they would shut down all internet cafes while also cutting off access to foreign gaming servers (not clear exactly how they’re doing this). The initial reaction has not been positive. Adult players who feel it’s perfectly within their rights to play a game whenever they’re able to are complaining. They say they work or study all day, so why shouldn’t they be allowed to play some games at night. Just because there are some people who are betting on games or there is some violence at the internet shops does not mean that the games are bad, but that those people have done something wrong.
