Judge Lets Out Freudian Slip In AOL Shareholder Suit

from the revealing dept

AOL's lawyers are apparently a bit worried after a judge in a class-action shareholder lawsuit against the company for its questionable financial dealings let loose a "judicial Freudian slip". She apparently ordered AOL-Time Warner to turn over millions of documents before the shareholders' lawyers even filed the specific motion requesting the documents. Many observers say this shows which side she's leaning towards, and may push AOL-TW to settle the case before it goes too far. However, any such settlement may end up costing the company billions - especially since similar settlements have been much more difficult to come by in a post-Enron world.
