Britain To Use Splatometers To Count Its Insects

In what sounds like an entry for the annual "improbable research" awards, folks in the UK are being asked to put "splatometers" on their cars to measure the number of insects they kill. Researchers have noticed that there appear to be fewer insects around the UK, so they want people to drive around with some flypaper stuck to their windshield to kill a few more, for the sake of research.
